SALEM WOMAN'S SERVICE CLUB

The Salem Woman's Service Club is affiliated with the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) and the Oregon Federation of Women's Clubs (OFWC).

The Salem Woman's Service Club (SWSC) was organized in 1934 by a group of 50 women and was originally known as the Junior Woman's Club of Salem.  In 1954, the club name was changed to Salem Junior Woman's Club, and in 1990 it became the Salem Woman's Service Club. The club manages a 501(c)(3) SWSC Community Projects that supports the charitable work of the club.

Club meetings are held September - June on the 3rd Monday at 6:30 pm in a member's home.  Several times a year various service projects are completed as part of the club meeting.  The club understands that all of us have many demands on our time and appreciates whatever time commitment members can make to club activities.

There are many benefits to membership with the Salem Woman's Service Club.

  • Volunteer: Make a difference in the lives of others in our community and around the world.
  • Make friends while helping others: We come together to make new friends, improve ourselves, and serve our community.  Members are of all ages and have diverse backgrounds.  We are a cheerful and welcoming group of women.  As we work together, we learn much and laugh often.
  • Personal growth in service to others: We actively support and focus on areas where we can provide timely, relevant, and much-needed help to those in need.  We strive to connect with people in a meaningful and tangible way
